Marion is a pseudonym; but further than that, she is a fictional character. Marion doesn’t want people to feel bad about their bodies and would like it to be clear that this blog is as much a writing and technical exercise as a pro-mia motivation page. She believes that women should feel socially comfortable at any size/shape they are personally comfortable with. But she’s also bulimic and fat.
The blog’s persona writes in a purposely exaggerated style and entries are not meant to be taken entirely seriously. Marion doesn’t want to promote bulimia in anyone not currently bulimic; she doesn’t want to see relapse in those in recovery. Marion is a fictional framework for those involved in bulimic thought. Marion is an exploration, not a petition or cause.
She welcomes flames from anyone who is outraged.
I am not, by any stretch of the imagination, outraged. Rather, I find myself strangely soothed by these posts. I don’t know if you will look to see who I am, but I am a current bulimic, rather new to the idea of admitting it. Your posts are thoughtful and I am glad to find something I understand. Don’t worry about promoting any ill behavior in me, I was engulfed in it long before this, and while in isolation, too.
Your blog is interesting!
Keep up the good work!
